Looks like this release breaks 6GHz for AiMesh nodes again. It was fixed in the last release after first being broken in the one before the last.

Actually I think it’s worse than the 6GHz bugs last time, 6GHz doesn’t connect even to the main node. On iOS clients that definitely worked with 6GHz, the “6E mode” option is gone.

Just in case others (or better yet, Asus engineers) could use my data points, after all dirty downgrade the second AiMesh node worked with 6GHz but the main node wouldn’t.

The only thing that worked temporarily for me was creating a new guest 6GHz network, which made my main network work again 2.4/5/6 (a suggestion on Reddit by one user several months ago to get their 6Ghz working again). But turning that 6Ghz guest network off also made my main node stop working with 6GHz again. After which no turning on or off a guest 6Ghz would have any effect and 6Ghz still wouldn’t work on the main node.

So staying on the downgraded FW I factory reset all the nodes and restored from a backup and everything works again.
