Not necessary I think. The firmware upgrade will reboot the system any ways. If you do hit an issue go ahead.

By the way, the yellow light on the ET-12 node with previous firmware is back to normal (white) in this one.

My yellow light on the node was also fixed by this - back to white as well.

I am having an issue with my Lifx lights. They are not able to connect to my network after upgrading to 3.0.0.6.102_36602. I had the same issue with 3.0.0.6.102_36597. I had to revert back to 3.0.0.4.388_24610 for everything to work.

What's funny now is that my download speed has been cut in half and my upload speed is showing up fully, despite both of them being 1gbps up/down when tested in the QoS speed test. Have restarted my router & node multiple times.

Did you try turning off your router and node, then rebooting your modem/gateway, then restarting your router and node after the modem/gateway finished booting? That fixed the issue for me.

Interesting. I'll try doing it that way.
Edit: Tried it, didn't make a difference.
